1. New conditions
Optional setting of new conditions to the timetable solution, both strict and weighting.
New options for each tutor to have a class with his or her group every day, preferably in the first and/or last hours.
The maximum daily occupancy of the group of students may be strictly limited, if the students have gaps in their template.
You can strictly establish a maximum number of class units to be taught continuously to each teacher, or force them to have the hour before or after break time free.
The different sessions of each subject must be taught in the same classroom, even if there are several alternative classrooms.
The weekly distribution of the teachers' complementary activities allows the establishment of a minimum daily duration.
Ensure at least -n- free intervals between the first and the last hours of each teacher's timetable, both during the same day, and between departure and arrival the following day, differentiating between Friday and Monday.
Maximum weekly and daily teacher presence, with strict and preferential values to be set independently.
It is possible to configure the maximum and minimum daily occupation of each teacher, both for class units and taking into account other types of activities.
In the case of groups of students that are far apart, it is strictly forbidden for teachers who share a timetable with one or the other group to have to make a double journey on the same day.
2. Planner
Configuring the timetable and using the software is even easier by employing new options.
It allows a flexible weekly distribution of class units with a maximum of up to nine non-continuous periods per day.
You can copy the content from one week to another or choose the week you want to delete.
When a selection is made in the list of class units through an element, its assignments are reported and it is allowed to change it for another one.
New user profiles for using subgroups of students, enabling exchange with other external applications that use subgroups, or individual students, allowing optimal timetables to be created for students in schools of music.
From the list of class units you can modify the assignment of all selected items.
Configuration validation reports more quickly and efficiently what might be wrong with the configuration to find a timetable.
The timetable analyser finds minimum sets of class units that do not fit together, which would allow determining those circumstances that interfere with each other and prevent solutions.
The debugger allows the engine to be launched without some of the strict conditions set in the configuration, in order to determine which ones might prevent complete results.
Looking for partial solutions will help you to debug impossible conditions.
The pre-set positions of groups, teachers, classrooms, etc. are reflected in the templates for their class units.
It allows you to configure different weekly timetables. This option can be useful, for example, to organise four-month timetables, or to plan a six-week academic year with different contents during each week.
It is possible to set the number of students in groups, the number of class units, and the capacity of classrooms, verifying that the allocations are correct.
3. Engine
The GHC engine increases its performance by obtaining and optimizing results.
You will be able to find a timetable with no teacher.
Engine pause conditions are included in case no complete results are found or if results have already been optimised.
The engine strictly checks that the classroom capacity is enough for the number of students.
If there are several frames and intervals with a fractional duration, or if teachers are assigned to break time, the maximum teacher stay is more precisely observed.
The engine improves its efficiency to find and optimize the solution to more complicated schedules, with contiguous blocks or consecutive sessions.
The conditions for maintaining a maximum and minimum number of daily class units in the teachers' timetable are more precisely observed.
The placement of on-call hours during school hours and break time is improved.
Better management of slack in the timetable of groups of students to create better timetables, by moving free time slots to non-preferred positions in the template, or to the ends of the timetable.
4. Editor
GHC makes it easier to modify or complete the timetables offered by the engine, more display options, reports, etc.
In the tables with the timetables of the groups of students, the group may optionally be divided by a small horizontal line.
If you have different timetables for different weeks, they can be displayed together and you can work on them in the editor. In this case, if there are several weeks, you can now also switch the weekday header to the date in the editor. You can move single class units from one week to another.
Option to translate the editor's table display signs and reports into other languages.
New wizard to automatically search for combinations to move class units within the editor.
The occupancy templates of all timetable elements can be modified from the editor.
When presenting the timetable of groups, the editor allows you to set a minimum number of splits of the group from which your elective subjects are detailed at the bottom of the table.
When performing drag-and-drop operations on the result tables, the possible destinations of the class units being moved are highlighted in different colours.
Printed lists of teachers in a department.
Signature sheet for attendance control. It generates forms for each day of the week or each date to collect the signatures of teachers by classrooms or groups of students.
Better choice of classrooms in the automatic allocation when adding or moving class units on the timetable, informing the classrooms that are occupied.
Assigning or moving class units on a timetable in the editor makes a more complete and accurate diagnosis of possible violations of the conditions that were previously configured in the Planner.
PDF presentation of the complete timetable of groups, teachers or classrooms in sheet format.
The start and end times can be presented in the PDF format: in a column on the left side of the table, as a grid, or within each cell.
5. Data exchange with other applications
These processes are subject to a ongoing maintenance.
A synchronised incremental import process is offered from the applications: RAÍCES, YEDRA, PLUMIER, DELPHOS, SAUCE, SÉNECA, FENICIA, RAYUELA, GESTIB AND RACIMA.
Exporting the timetable from the editor allows you to check the keys being used in the timetable against those currently provided in a file downloaded from the corresponding external application. In this way, it is possible to validate that the keys used exist and are correctly assigned.
New academic management applications with which GHC exchanges configuration data and timetables: Algebraix, FENICIA and STILUS.
From the GHC planner, class units can be added via the Windows clipboard and CSV files.
You can, either from the Planner or from the Editor, make an import from an external application to complete data or exchange keys.
Import and export through other open formats.
6. GHC App
The online platform is integrated with the rest of GHC's processes. It facilitates collaborative work to generate the timetable and carry out a complete day-to-day management.
Classroom booking:
- Manage the classrooms booking by the school.
- Allow teachers to request a classroom booking, or book it directly.
Complete and real view of the timetable, which can be configured for:
- Displaying the substitutions made.
- Sporadic or non-periodic sessions to be displayed.
- Hiding or marking absences differently.
- Hiding or marking regular class units that were not held on a specific date.
User roles: assign certain teachers permissions to manage one or more of the application's modules (timetable viewer, absence manager, sporadic class units and classroom booking).
Actions historic: consult the log of all the actions that have been performed in the application, including author, date and action.
Edit the timetable on specific dates without having to publish a new timetable. Create a session on a specific date that does not repeat, delete sessions on a day with a group if they go on a field trip, or reflect evaluation meetings in each teacher's schedule.
You can use GHC APP WEB from any web browser. The native applications of GHC APP MOBILE are available for both Android and iOS. The management team, teachers and students will be connected through a system that allows you to define the permissions for each type of user.
The timetable viewer allows you to share the timetables of your educational institution. If your school has termly or quarterly timetables, different timetables will be published for different dates.
Through the management of absences and substitutions, the teacher will request or communicate an absence to the head of studies, allowing a quick and simple management organizing and automatically notifying substitutions.
Capture of preferences is used before the start of the school year to collect information needed to make the timetable, such as subject and group assignments or other teacher choices. The process is automated around the head of department, which speeds up the collection of data from the head of studies for timetabling.
Merging of solution files. From the file platform it will be possible to merge two files obtained separately. This will allow to create a single timetable with all the information to publish it in GHC APP or export it to other applications.
Access to a remote repository. From the GHC file platform you can share your timetables over the Internet, facilitating joint work and access from multiple devices. It will also serve as a backup copy of your timetables in case of possible damage or loss of files.
The cloud engine runs as a service over the Internet. It is different from the classic engine, which runs locally on your own computer. The cloud engine is offered together with your subscription as an alternative to the classic engine.
